(Reporter Kim Min-jeong)= The International Northern Ssireum Federation (INSF) has officially appointed Master. Rouhid Sherzad as National Head Coach and Country Representative for Afghanistan, while also confirming his appointment as an International Advisory Board Member of the Federation.
The appointment recognizes Master. Sherzad’s commitment to traditional sports development, cultural heritage preservation, international cooperation, and the promotion of traditional physical culture within Afghanistan and the wider Eurasian region.
As National Head Coach and Country Representative, Master. Sherzad will serve as the official INSF representative in Afghanistan, supporting the development of Northern Ssireum, athlete education, instructor training, and international cultural exchange programs. He will also coordinate participation in INSF international events, seminars, and heritage initiatives.
In his capacity as an International Advisory Board Member, Master. Sherzad will contribute to the Federation’s long-term strategic development and provide guidance on international cooperation, cultural heritage preservation, and regional outreach efforts.
The appointment reflects INSF’s continuing efforts to establish a global network dedicated to the preservation and promotion of traditional physical heritage. Through cooperation with cultural leaders, educators, coaches, and heritage advocates, INSF seeks to strengthen international friendship while safeguarding traditional knowledge and cultural identity.
Afghanistan occupies a significant place within the historic cultural corridors of Eurasia and the Silk Road region. INSF believes that collaboration with Afghan traditional sports practitioners and cultural communities will contribute to the preservation of shared cultural heritage and the strengthening of international cultural dialogue.
INSF President Jun-Ho Song stated:

Through international cooperation and mutual respect, we can preserve ancestral traditions while building meaningful connections between nations. We are honored to welcome Mr. Rouhid Sherzad as both National Head Coach and International Advisory Board Member of INSF.”
