The International Northern Ssireum Federation (INSF) Tanzania Cultural Headquarters proudly announces the official launch of the Youth Traditional Ssireum (Wrestling) Training Program, designed in preparation for the upcoming World Championships commemorating UN Youth Day 2026.
Benadeta Benard appointed as the head coach of the Tanzania national team for the World Traditional Wrestling Championships hosted by INSF in commemoration of the 2026 UN Youth Day.
This landmark initiative is proudly co-organized and supported by the North Korea Defector’s Sports Council (이북도민체육회), which is providing critical administrative and organizational infrastructure to ensure the success and global reach of the program.
Led by Professor Zachary Uko, President of the Tanzania Cultural Headquarters, the training program aims to empower local youth through traditional martial arts, fostering international cultural exchange, discipline, and athletic excellence. By bringing ancient Silk Road combat traditions and traditional wrestling to the forefront of youth development, the program aligns with the core values of UN Youth Day—promoting peace, cross-cultural understanding, and youth empowerment through sports.

The training sessions will run intensively leading up to the World Championships, offering young athletes a unique pathway to showcase their skills on an international stage.
