The World Subak Federation participated in the recent UNDRR SEM Climate Working Group webinar focused on climate resilience, disaster risk reduction (DRR), and the Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative.
During the online session, comments were submitted emphasizing the importance of integrating traditional knowledge, community-based physical culture, and open educational preservation into future resilience and disaster preparedness frameworks.
The discussion referenced the ongoing preservation activities related to Subak, a traditional Korean movement culture, including multilingual educational dissemination, digital archiving, audiovisual documentation, and open-access educational initiatives.
The submitted comments highlighted that traditional movement practices and community-centered training systems may contribute to strengthening physical resilience, local cooperation, and cultural continuity during periods of social and environmental instability.
The World Subak Federation has recently expanded its international activities through open-access platforms, English-language educational publications, and global digital preservation initiatives connected to OER, Wikimedia, and international academic archives.
The webinar was organized within the framework of the UNDRR Stakeholder Engagement Mechanism (SEM) Climate Working Group in preparation for ongoing international climate and DRR policy discussions.
