Nazir Hossain, International Advisory Committee Member of the International Northern Ssireum Federation
(Reporter Kim Min-jeong)= The International Northern Ssireum Federation (INSF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Md. Nazir Hossain of Bangladesh as an International Advisory Board Member, effective 5 July 2026.
Mr. Hossain is one of Bangladesh’s most accomplished martial arts professionals, bringing more than 16 years of international experience as an athlete, coach, referee, organizer, and martial arts administrator. Throughout his career, he has contributed significantly to the promotion of traditional martial arts and combat sports both in Bangladesh and internationally.
A 3rd Dan Black Belt certified by the Bangladesh Shito Ryu Karate Do Association (BSKA), Mr. Hossain has developed expertise across multiple disciplines, including Karate, Kempo, Combat Wrestling, Belt Wrestling, Sambo, Kurash, and Wushu. He has also completed numerous national and international coaching, refereeing, and technical development programs.
Among his many achievements, Mr. Hossain earned Silver and Bronze Medals in Belt Wrestling at the World Martial Arts Masterships in the Republic of Korea, bringing international recognition to Bangladesh. During his competitive and administrative career, he has represented his country in major international championships, seminars, and sports exchanges across more than 15 countries, including South Korea, Japan, Russia, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Egypt, China, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Nepal, and others.
As an experienced International Team Leader, he has guided Bangladeshi delegations to numerous global competitions while actively organizing championships, officiating events, and mentoring athletes of various age groups. His commitment to leadership, fair play, technical excellence, and international friendship has earned him widespread respect within the martial arts community.
INSF President welcomed the appointment, stating:
“Mr. Nazir Hossain’s extensive international experience and dedication to martial arts make him an outstanding addition to the INSF International Advisory Board. His expertise will strengthen our efforts to expand international cooperation in traditional wrestling research, education, and cultural heritage preservation.”
As an International Advisory Board Member, Mr. Hossain will support the Federation’s initiatives in international cooperation, traditional wrestling research, educational development, and the promotion of Silk Road and Steppe warrior culture through academic exchange and cultural collaboration.
The appointment also represents another important milestone in INSF’s continuing expansion of its global network of experts dedicated to preserving and promoting the world’s traditional wrestling heritage through research, education, and international partnership.
