INSF Announces “Neulbom Clinic” as the Official Medical Advisory Body for the 2026 Northern-Style Ssireum World Championships

(Reporter Song In-kwon)= The International Ssireum Federation (INSF) is pleased to announce the signing of a strategic partnership with New Bom Clinic, a specialized medical institution under the Busan Association for the Welfare of the Elderly, by forming the Official Medical Advisory Committee for the 2026 World Ssireum Championships.

As INSF prepares to showcase Northern Ssireum—listed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity—on the world stage, the safety and well-being of the athletes are our top priority.

Establishing New Standards for Traditional Ssireum

This collaboration will serve as a significant milestone in the evolution of Ssireum from a traditional culture into a specialized international sport.

The Committee’s key responsibilities are as follows:

Injury Prevention: Developing evidence-based safety guidelines tailored to the physical characteristics of Northern Ssireum.

Medical Standards: Establishing rigorous safety protocols and emergency response procedures for the 2026 World Championships.
