International Open Educational Group for Korean Subak Established on OER Commons

An international open educational group dedicated to Korean traditional martial movement culture has been established on OER Commons, a widely used open educational resources platform.

The newly created group, focused on the study and educational sharing of Subak, aims to provide international access to traditional Korean movement training materials, historical resources, webinar materials, and movement education content.

The project supports the open distribution of educational materials related to Korean traditional martial culture, including body coordination training, lower-body movement systems, breathing methods, and historical movement analysis associated with Subak.

Recent educational resources published through the platform include:

  • Jeolguzil: Traditional Korean Breathing and Lower-Body Coordination Training within the Subak Tradition
  • Gegeoreum (Crab Walk): Traditional Korean Lateral Movement, Balance Transfer, and Lower-Body Coordination Training

The group is intended to function as an open educational archive where international educators, martial artists, researchers, and cultural practitioners may access and reference Korean traditional movement materials.

According to organizers, the initiative seeks to promote international educational exchange and digital preservation of Korean traditional movement culture through open-access educational resources.
